What we are looking for:
We are seeking a full time Research and Development - Upholstery Specialist to join our Research and Development team. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for developing our upholstery products from concept to production. You will capture and execute the production briefs in your final designs and prepare production information to ensure a seamless product launch. The role is onsite at our HQ in Scoresby.
What the role entails:
- Produce upholstery models, tools and protypes for new products
- Work on the timeline of product releases with the Head of Engineering
- Work in consultation with the R&D Timber, Design and Engineering Teams on construction methods for new products
- Ensure new products are in line with design expectations, structural integrity and fit for use
- Coordinate schedules with Timber R&D Team in order to release products into production
- Provide details on construction and modification of custom pieces
- Legacy improvements: highlight and implement any process or material improvements for existing ranges
- Oversee continuous improvement activities in R&D Upholstery throughout the production floor
- Assist with Accumark and the digitalising of patterns
- Assist with any Customer Support and After Sales queries
- Assist with training on new products or equipment implemented into the factory
- Work with Cutting/Sewing and Upholstery Leading Hands on new product releases and product training
What we require:
- A minimum of 4 years experience in upholstery and product design
- Qualification in an upholstery trade or a related work experience in manufacturing
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
