As with new carpet, our New Zealand wool is a natural fibre and some shedding in new rugs is expected. Over time the shorter wool fibres will work their way out of the spun yarn and settle after use. To keep your rug looking its best vacuum regularly to remove any loos fibres, dust or dirt. Avoid placing in direct sunlight and rotate regularly to equalise wear. Clip loose ends with scissors to remove and prevent pulling. Spot clean with cold water and a clean cloth – for stubborn stains use shampoo or wool mix, being careful to absorb any extra moisture after cleaning to prevent watermarking. To maintain your rugs condition, we recommend getting it professionally cleaned at least once a year — do not steam or dry clean.
