Melbourne based Kate Brouwer is the hands and heart behind Asobimasu Clay. Drawing inspiration from the Japanese word Asobimasu, meaning to play, “to create without boundaries”, Kate’s work looks to bend the boundaries of traditional forms and explore their relationship to the world around us. Inspired by native bushland and landscapes, the Kyokusen Vase’s are all unique in movement, hand formed and thoughtfully squeezed. The Kyokusen Vase nods to tradition whilst its curving lip invites wild branches and arrangements to interlace with its bold form. Made using stoneware clay and finished with a matte chalk glaze, Kyokusen is available in two heights- 13.5cm and 19.5cm
