Handwoven in India by skilled artisans over nearly three months, the Merla Rug Pond is crafted using a traditional Tibetan rod-wrapping technique. Each knot is wrapped and cut by hand to form a thick pile in premium New Zealand wool. A sculptural high-low edge, inspired by tiled stonework and expressed as a checkerboard border along the short edge, adds subtle texture. As each rug is handmade, variations in border design, colour and shape are part of its unique character.

Due to the handmade nature of this rug colour, shape may vary and a size tolerance of 2-3% is acceptable.
