Manufacturing A Better Tomorrow: A New Narrative in Design
26.05.25
Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting Manufacturing a Better Tomorrow: A New Narrative in Design as part of Melbourne Design Week. Held at our Richmond showroom, the event brought together a panel of industry leaders to explore sustainability in design.

Guided by Indesign’s Jan Henderson, a design industry veteran with over 30 years' experience and current INDE.Awards Programme Director, the discussion featured Versa Studio’s Rebecca Trenorden, alongside Jardan Director Nick Garnham, and Head of Design Max Cairns.

Together, they explored how in-house manufacturing allows Jardan to oversee every step of the production process, from selecting sustainable materials to designing furniture for durability and repairability. The panel also addressed the challenges and opportunities of maintaining high-quality craftsmanship and innovative design while meeting ecological and social responsibilities.

Guests enjoyed a thoughtfully curated menu by Fine Grazing, with drinks by Clover Wine Bar, Breheny Bros Breweries, Billy Can Drink and Bobby.
