Olson Leather

Tea Rose

Our Olson leather offers a soft handle combined with excellent durability, making it a versatile choice across both residential and commercial applications. Produced in Italy from carefully selected full-grain hides, Olson is a semi-aniline leather that retains the hide’s natural grain structure, resulting in subtle variation from hide to hide and showcasing the authentic character of the material.

The use of higher-quality hides is essential to achieving this specification, setting Olson apart from corrected or imitation leathers. Finished to balance performance with tactility, Olson delivers a soft, consistent touch alongside a high cutting yield, supporting both efficiency in production and longevity in use.

Olson has been used extensively in commercial environments due to its durability, while its natural appearance and refined finish also make it well suited to residential settings. As a semi-aniline leather, it maintains a balance between protection and natural expression, making it appropriate for a wide range of interior applications.

Composition: Natural Full Grain, Semi-Aniline Leather

Thickness: 1.2mm +/- 0.1mm

Light Fastness: 5

Average Hide Size: 4.5-5.0sqm

Styling Notes

- Semi-aniline leather with a fine, natural, subtle grain and a light protective coating.

- Soft, delicate handle with natural characteristics. Slight variations in finish and colour are intrinsic features, not faults. Upholsters beautifully, wears well, and can be maintained with a leather care kit.

- Suitable for any Jardan product where leather is an option. Semi-aniline leather develops character with age and use but is slightly more resistant to marks, stains, and fading than full aniline. Consider the client’s end use and placement within the home.

- Can be used in commercial applications; however, sensitivity to direct light and heavy wear should still be taken into account.

Care

Direct sunlight may cause colour change and aging of your fabric, for best performance we recommend positioning your furniture out of direct UV light and reflected light sunlight. Rotate cushions regularly where possible so fabric shows even wear and light exposure.

Leather is a natural product characterised by the unique tone and individual markings that the animal has acquired during its life which may include creases and stretchmarks, scars and insect bites.

Some softening and stretching of the leather is to be expected with use.

Wipe leather with a clean, damp white cotton cloth on a weekly basis to remove dust and dirt particles that can work their way into the hide and abrade the surface.

To refresh your leather, care packages specifically designed for aniline and finished leathers are available at your nearest Jardan store.

To treat difficult stains, we recommend contacting a specialist leather cleaner who can also assist with regular treatment of the leather to nourish and prolong the life of leather upholstery.

Keep your leather furniture at least 30cm away from any sources of heat. Prolonged exposure to heating vents or radiators will cause your leather to dry out, crack or harden.

Please note that dye transfer can occur when dye is transferred from an outside source on to upholstery fabric. For example: Unwashed new dark coloured denim or raw indigo garments.

Please Note

Whilst every effort has been made to ensure the colours depicted on our website of materials and products accurately reflect the way they appear in person, Jardan advises that there may be variation between these due to a combination of factors including computer monitor, screen settings and lighting as well as a level of true variation in the products themselves. We work with many natural materials as well as handmade artisan products where a level of variation is to be expected and celebrated. It is therefore recommended that you view products in person prior to ordering where possible, or request swatches and additional information from our sales teams.
