Emerson

Cacao

Emerson is an aniline leather with fine grain a soft sueded Nubuck finish, this leather invites touch and creates a sensory experience.   These effects distinguish it from others on the market along with the smoothness and softness of touch and vibrant colour palette.  This leather is taken from European bulls, and the lime splitting method is used which allows for a gorgeous smooth surface.  It should be remembered that leather is a natural product and as such characteristics such as wrinkles and healed scars should not be considered as flaws, in fact on the contrary, they are evidence of the authenticity of its natural origin.  The tanning is done in Italy using the Chrome mineral method, any pollution created in the water during the process is purified prior to being released to the environment. All hides are purchased from accredited farms in Europe as a byproduct to animal raised for human consumption.

This leather is water repellent and dirt can be easily removed with a damp sponge.  Add a pop of colour to your world with this truly inspired palette of luscious tactile colours. Aniline leather does develop character with age/use, it is more susceptible to mark, stain and scratch and fade in direct light so take care when selecting to make sure it suits end use and placement within the home.

Composition: Aniline Leather

Light Fastness: 4-5

Care

Avoid anything that could scratch it, as nubuck is softer than some other varieties of leather and should be treated with care. Leather is a natural product characterised by the unique tone and individual markings that the animal has acquired during its life which may include creases and stretchmarks, scars and insect bites.  Some softening and stretching of the leather is to be expected with use.  Wipe leather with a clean, damp cloth on a weekly basis to remove dust and dirt particles that can work their way into the hide and abrade the surface.

To refresh your leather, care packages specifically designed for aniline and finished leathers are available at your nearest Jardan store.  To treat difficult stains, we recommend contacting a specialist leather cleaner who can also assist with regular treatment of the leather to nourish and prolong the life of leather upholstery.  Keep your leather furniture at least 30cm away from any sources of heat. Prolonged exposure to heating vents or radiators will cause your leather to dry out, crack or harden.

Please be aware that the images presented online are to be used as a guideline only to the colour of your final product. Digital representations vary from screen to screen and slight variation between dye lots is also to be expected. When selecting your leather we therefore recommend visiting our sales team in store to view our swatches in person and discuss suitability of your chosen fabrics. You can also call your closest showroom to request a sample via post.
