Set along the Pyrmont foreshore on Gadigal Country, the new NSW Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages is a calm and contemporary space that marks life’s significant moments. Designed by Bates Smart and delivered by Intermain, the fit out draws on a soft, tonal palette of warm neutrals, timber battening and curved forms to create a welcoming, elevated experience.

A suspended fabric ceiling with integrated lighting gently references the movement of sails on the harbour, while custom joinery and subtle zoning allow spaces to flow seamlessly between ceremony, work and reflection.
