Interwoven: Motions of Passage

Interwoven: Motions of Passage is a reflection on the quiet beauty of craftsmanship and the movement behind every handmade piece. Designed by Jardan and handwoven in India, the collection explores the relationship between material, process and the human touch, where every rug carries the story of the hands that made it.
Inside the weaving houses, craft is woven into daily life. Techniques and skills are passed down through generations, learned slowly through observation, repetition and time spent beside experienced makers. Families and artisans work in close rhythm with one another, carrying forward traditions that have shaped weaving practices for decades. It is a process guided not only by precision, but by instinct and a deep material understanding.
Natural wool moves through many stages before reaching its final form. Yarns are dyed, wound and carefully woven by hand using detailed maps that translate each design into intricate knot-by-knot compositions. Persian and Tibetan knotting techniques require patience, control and years of practice, yet no two pieces are ever exactly alike. Subtle irregularities, shifts in texture and the softness of the fibres reveal the human presence behind every rug.
Movement exists everywhere within the collection. In the motion of the loom. In changing light across texture. In the passage from sketch to material object, and from maker to home. Bold forms and tactile compositions ground a space with warmth and quiet character, designed not simply to be seen but to be lived with over time.
Interwoven: Motions of Passage celebrates craftsmanship as something living, where tradition, material and making continue to evolve together through the hands of each new generation.
